We've been arguing about Anni's puking and the lack of anything the pediatrician is doing about it, so we made an appointment with a new one, and are going to start seeing her instead. I like the doctors equally, but Kelly prefers Dr. Boehm (pronounced Bame, in case you care) and her office is much closer to home, 12th Street instead of at Ogden Regional Hospital.
She looked Anna over, who now weighs 13 pounds and 3 ounces, and said she's healthy and a happy baby. We described the problem and she said that it's definitely reflux. She gave us a sample of baby Prevacid to give her and made an appointment to see her again in 2 weeks to decide if it's helping or if we need to try Prilosec instead. She says that it probably won't help her to throw up less, but it will decrease the acid in it, so she's more comfortable and it's less irritating to her skin. We have to hold the pill inside her cheek until it dissolves. We tried that the first time and she wasn't happy about it. Today I tried the other method, dissolving it in water and giving it to her in a dropper. That worked much better, so we'll stick to doing it that way.

Hudson is on Prevacid also along with the Erthromyacin(sp?) that the doctors at Primary put him on. I think Darin/Britt break the prevacid into fourths. It will probably help. You can tell that Annika is gaining weight she's just a petite little girl.
oxoxox
Reflux is such a wonderful Paskett family trait...
My doctor gave me a generic for Prilosec to see if it would help with the ulcer we think I have. Also she gave me some nasty pink liquid stuff. I can't tell if it's making a difference yet. I don't recommend giving Annika any of the pink stuff though...*gag*
btw, that's a cute picture of Anni :)
To be honest Sar, there isn't much your doctor can do. Addie took prevacid too but its just part of being a baby. Addie loved the pills though and had no problem desolving them on her own. It eventually goes away. Try having her nap on her infant carrier. Addie spent the first few months of her life sleeping in her infant carrier b/c of reflux and living on mylanta.
Good luck
