Qwest is run by Nazi's!

On Monday the Nazi's at Qwest installed a new program on their employee's phones. Kelly's didn't get installed right and he spent most of Monday and Tuesday with tech support trying to get it fixed, which bombed his availability percentage. On Wednesday his boss told him he had to have it back up to 90% by Friday or he would be fired. On Thursday morning his boss told him that he could either quit or be fired on Friday and she would block unemployment. So now we have no insurance.
Luckily, Deyette and Duren came to the rescue. Kelly starts Monday working construction with Duren. We didn't take a pay cut, but still don't have insurance. I'm going to try to get insurance through the University on Monday, but I don't know if it will cover Kelly too, and it will only last until December when I graduate.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

holy crapola, Sarah! I can't believe that Qwest...wait. Yes, YES! I can believe that Qwest would do something like that. Bastards! It doesn't sound legal what his boss did with blocking unemployment. Try that route more, because honestly, cobra will cover some of it and he should be covered through unemployment. good luck!!

i have been researching insurance and i have found for me select health was a great choice but check out ehealthinsurance.com - For us it was stupidly expensive to add a spouse to student insurance and it might be better for kelly to have something seperate. MAKE SURE THEY COVER MATERNITY othwerwise if you find out randomly that your prego and don't have it, its a pre-exisisting condition and they won't cover you.

I have just been doing tons of research on this so call me if you need any other advice or if you have questions!

look at this as a blessing,Kelly hated that job and i don't blame him. the no insurance deal sucks, but i think by law they have to offer you Cobra which is usually super expensive, and whom ever said they would block him unemployment was posing a threat. there would be a hearing over something like that. just hang in there these things usually work out for the better. he should go talk to job service and find out his rights, he maybe could get that supervisor fired...
wouldn't you just love getting even!
